Sir Hugh LaddieSir Hugh Laddie dies

The High Court judge who shaped copyright and performing rights law has died, aged 62.

He was best known for giving courts the power to enter suspected music pirates’ premises without prior warning – now known as an ‘Anton Piller order’. This led the way for similar changes in law across the world.

Laddie later used his knowledge to help performers gain protection for their work.
