Rock bands triumph at NME awards

The results are in from the Shockwaves NME Awards 2009 and rock bands are back!

The Cure took home the Godlike Genius Award, Elbow claimed Outstanding Contribution To Music, Oasis took Best British Band and Muse won both Best Live Band and Best Album Artwork.

Other winners include Pete Doherty, Dizzee Rascal & Calvin Harris, Arctic Monkeys, The Mighty Boosh and Noel Gallagher.
