Ringo Starr agrees digital deal

Following in the footsteps of former bandmate Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr has given permission for his solo catalogue to be released online for the first time.

The deal will allow all of Starr's solo material released under Capitol/EMI to be made available through digital stores such as iTunes without DRM protection.

Starr will also be releasing six of his songs as ringtones when his catalogue goes on sale on August 28th 2007.
