Q1 album sales down

Album sales for Q1 were down 8.94% to 25,372,880 units compared to the same period in 2006.

Despite the drop in album sales, compilation sales have risen by 10.1% year on year to 6,599,500 units.

The drop in albums sales is being blamed on the slow sales of digital albums and the ability for users to download individual tracks rather than full albums.
