The Police announce last ever gig

The Police are to play their last ever show together at a benefit concert in New York.

The band, who reunited in 2007 to embark on a World tour, are to play at a yet-to-be-revealed venue with proceeds from the gig going towards the funding of arts programming on the city's public service TV channels.

Before heading to the States, the band will play their final UK show in Hyde Park on 29 June 2008.
