Peter Hook of Joy Division and New Order will open a new live music venue – FAC251: The Factory – on the site of the old offices of Factory Records in Manchester.
Hook will be performing songs from his whole back catalogue at the launch on 29 January. Speaking to the BBC, Hook said the aim of the club is to make it ‘a gigging venue’. He went on to say: ‘The idea is to put a good old-fashioned venue, where music is the key, and give them (bands) a chance to grow.’
The building has undergone a re-design by Ben Kelly, the original architect of Factory's infamous Haçienda nightclub.
