Peter Gabriel named Midem Personality of the Year

PRS member Peter Gabriel has been named the 2008 Midem Personality of the Year at a gala event in Cannes.

The celebrated musician, supporter of World Music and internet music pioneer hobbled onto stage to accept his award on Monday night having recently broken his leg in a ski-ing accident.

The evening was topped off by performances from some of Gabriel’s favourite musicians including Simon Emmerson, Eliza Carthy and Charlie Winston.
