Pet Shop Boys to receive BRIT

Pet Shop Boys are to receive the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award at the 2009 BRIT Awards.

Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe will perform a live set at the ceremony which will take place at London's Earls Court on 18 February 2009.

The duo scored their first hit in 1986 with West End Girls and since then have had 22 top ten singles including four number ones.
