Paul McCartney wins Classical Brit Award
Sir Paul McCartney has won the best album award at the Classical Brit awards, held last night at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The former Beatle won the award for this fourth classical album Ecce Cor Meum (Behold My Heart). The album is partly sung in Latin and was recorded with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields.
George Fenton picked up the composer of the year award for his music for the high rating BBC documentary series Planet Earth.
The awards will be broadcast on ITV1 on 13th May 2007.
