PRSF award goes to Fragmented Orchestra proposal. PHOTO: WILL STRANGEPRSF award winners announced

Jane Grant, Nick Ryan and John Matthias were awarded the PRS Foundation New Music Award 2008 for their proposal, The Fragmented Orchestra.

The trio receive £50,000 and now have until September 2009 to bring their proposal of creating a musical structure modelled on the human brain's cortex into reality.

The recipient of the award was announced at a ceremony at Shoreditch Town Hall, London and was attended by all shortlisted artists as well as the award's panel of judges.

The PRS Foundation for New Music would welcome comments on the New Music Award and the winner (The Fragmented Orchestra) to newmusicaward@prsfoundation.co.uk
