Dig Out Your Soul hits number one

Oasis' latest album Dig Out Your Soul has gone to number one on the UK album charts in its first week of release.

The Manchester band's seventh studio offering ended Kings of Leon's two-week stint at number one whilst also holding off competition from the likes of Will Young and James Morrison.

Kaiser Chiefs scored the highest new entry in the singles chart with Never Miss a Beat entering at number five.
