New chart rundown on music subscription services

The Official Charts Company (OCC) has announced plans to launch an official UK chart tracking music subscription plays.

Songs will be ranked by the amount of play they receive through UK consumers on services such as Napster UK and MSN's Music Box.

The chart will be launched later this year to be followed in 2008 with an industry-facing market data service in order to monitor trends in this growing sector.
