The Critic's Choice Award, chosen by a team of experts from radio, TV, newspaper, magazines and websites, will be awarded to the best up-and-coming British act.

Signed acts who are due to release debut albums in 2008 will be eligible for next year's prize.

Nomination's for 2008 BRIT Awards will be announced on 14 January 2008.
