Composer member Imran Hanif beat a shortlist of 12 composers and bands to have his music accompany the latest BBC1 idents, revealed to TV viewers in October as part of a £1.2m rebranding campaign.
Imran's music accompanies eight 30-second films that link programmes and include images of surfers, kite fliers, synchronised swimming hippos and stunt motorbike riders, whose actions converge in the shape of a spinning circle or globe.
Imran viewed each ident as a variation in shade from a unified colour. He said: 'The colourings in my compositions are based around E and A major with a recognisable counter tune melody throughout each ident. As each ident varies in theme so do the production elements in each of my compositions.'
