Neuron sites chosen for Fragmented Orchestra
Gloucester Cathedral and St Andrew's, Fulham Fields in London are two of the 24 locations selected as 'neuron sites' for the Fragmented Orchestra project.
These religious buildings, along with such locations as a gallery, waterfront, football pitch and school playground, will feed sounds to a central location at Liverpool's FACT gallery from 11 December 2008 to 9 February 2009 where listeners will be able to hear to the score of all 24 sound feeds from across the nation. The final line-up of neuron sites will be publicly announced prior to the launch.
The project, devised by Nick Ryan, John Matthias an Jane Grant, won the PRS Foundation New Music Award earlier this year.
