Music fraud arrested

A man allegedly involved with Russian download site allofmp3.com has been arrested by the Metropolitan police. 

It’s believed the man was acting as the UK and European conduit for the website by selling £10 vouchers on eBay for use on allofmp3.com. The vouchers allowed consumers to access the website and download illegal music.

Police executed their raid under Section 2 of the Fraud Act 2006 – legislation introduced into UK law four months ago specially to combat online fraud. This is the first time the new legislation has been used in a copyright-related case.
