MicrosoftMicrosoft changes view on DRM

Microsoft has announced a change in its position on DRM protected downloads, following last week's announcement by EMI and iTunes.

The company will sell unprotected music files through its Zune website, beginning in the next few months.

A Microsoft spokesperson said ‘Consumers have made it clear that unprotected music is something they want. We plan on offering it to them as soon as our label partners are comfortable with it’.
