Michael Jackson tributes

1 2 3 4 5

I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr Micheal Jackson the King of pop during the Jackson 5 tour of the UK. After the concert we met again at the RITZ THE BAND WAS EXCELLENT, And so was the Jackson 5 unforgettable, but Micheal stole the show,he was soft spoken, polite, keen and attentive, to his music, excellent productions in audio and visual, broke down all barriers of ethnicity, took pop music to a higher level great dancer, excellent dress code, his music will last for a very long time, if not forever. My Condolences to his family.

Dell Richardson

Michael's music has spun around my head since his death.  His talent will be greatly missed.

Still in shock to hear about the passing of Michael Jackson.  A legend of a performer, musician, songwriter.  My thoughts go out to his family and his children.  Goes without saying that his music will live on for a very long time.

Deborah Carew

No matter if you are a player or a listener, this is a major loss. Everyone remembers where they were when they heard of the deaths of JFK, and for Elvis. It will be the same for Michael Jackson.

Noel O’Reilly, Normusic.co.uk

This is so sudden, a generation of kids are never going to witness a spectacular event. I saw him at Wembley 1988 (Bad Tour), he was awesome, his performance, musicians, showmanship, I felt like I'd held my breath and not blinked for the entire show so I would not miss a nano-second. So inspiring, have worked with Brownstone and Andrae Crouch who sang on the Bad album so this is very close to me. My kids grew up on the Moonwalker video (kept them mesmerised for hours). All I can say is what a great star he was with such good messages throughout his music, which will last a few more years. Those of us who are left, hopefully will understand that we are truly the custodians of humanity whilst we still have the gift of life!

Phil Edwards, Middle 8 Productions

A true icon of our time, he influenced so many musicians and will be sorely missed by all.

The music, the dance the shows, the videos, a thoroughly enjoyed youth, slow dances to “she’s out of my life”. Thank you for it all.x

He was a God, and that just adds to the disbelief that he is gone... He was immortal! He was mine and millions of others idol. I was going to see him on this tour for the first time, and now that can't happen. I am devistated and crushed. Rest in peace Michael Jackson! You will never really die!

Martyn Drabik

Michael Jackson was a talent that I dont think can be repeated.  His songs were full of joy but if you listen to some lyrics, also sadness.  He was a great artist and I'm truly sorry that he had such a troublesome life brought on I feel unfortunately due to race, the media, exploitation and childhood.
What a sad end to such a gifted person.

Cecile Troth

Michael Jackson will be sadly missed. Fantastic in everything he did, be a misunderstood person. his music will live to go on making him a remembered person always.

To The Best That Ever Did It..
The King Of Pop - Michael Jackson

Rest In Peace

Angel, Hero, Fallen Idol
Resurrected as the King
Hearts bleed fast in steadfast grief
He gave us all, his everything

Talent overall surmounting
Infiltrating hearts and minds
In taste and choice there’s no accounting
He appealed to every kind

Black or white, straight or gay
Adored by all in every creed
Songs of joy showed us the way
In souls he planted loving seeds

Will we miss him? Will we ever?
Nothing will replace that star
From child to man he gave forever
We knew that child would go real far

And now we have his living memory
Of the crop, he was the cream
So take a moment now to savour
Then keep him in eternal dream

David Martin, Writer of ‘Can’t Smile Without You’ for Barry Manilow

This man was sent 50 years ago to bless our land.
His feet created the future in a dance that was to be our heritage as he danced with a uniqueness and freedom and ignited a power within us all as we watched and witnessed his magnificance.

How priviledged were we to be in a time where we felt his significance and heard his magical vocal chords radiate through our souls and bring joy to so many.

Michael you are a legend in life and beyond it and will continue to leave us shaking.

With Love and respect and the enormous peace that you greatly deserve and will now have, you truly beautiful man and soul.

All my love

Most people of my generation, who grew up in the 70's and 80's will recognise Michael Jackson as a figure ever-present in their lives in one way or another. From being a fan of his music, to respecting him as an individual, a creative artistic force, a pioneer of dance or an inspiration to want to be the greatest at what you love to do: Michael was and always will be a genius and a musical god.
He will be even greater in death than he was in life, I feel that this tragic event has brought out all the old records and people are reliving as if for the first time all his timeless classics that sound just as good now, if not better!! That is the mark of a true prodigy-come-icon.
He has left us now, but is immortal through his music and dance and memory as the greatest showman on earth. Long live Michael! Too hard to believe, RIP xx

Michael Jackson was the biggest artist ever, to me he surpasses all including Elvis, Buddy, 2pac, Picasso, Van Gogh, Da Vinci etc. He appealed to absolutely everyone and not a being on the planet didnt kno who he was. That is feat rivalled by none and for that MJ was the biggest celebrity ever. Its a shame we have lost such a talent but I am honored to have lived in the same time frame as the ex-living legend. MICHAEL THANKYOU FOR NOT ONLY GIVING US THE MUSIC YOU GAVE US BUT ALSO ALL THE OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS SUCH AS CONSTANTLY REMINDING US TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER AND ALL YOUR CHARITY CONTRIBUTIONS. R.I.P MICHAEL JOSEPH "KING OF POP" JACKSON!!!

Michael Jackson really has provided the soundtrack to my life so far.  I copied everything he did and he taught me how to harmonise, as well as inspiring my own songwriting.  As a musician, his professionalism and showman-ship affected me so deeply that I don't think i would be the same artist without him.  Rest in peace MJ.

Colette McKendrick

"It's sad to know that such an icon and inspiration in this field of entertainment has departed from us all...
Even as a businessman he was an astonishing figurehead and of course his legacy will live on in this industry - without a doubt!

I'm saddened...May a true musical genious R.I.P...my heart goes out to his entire family."

REISS ROBINSON

Michael's contribution to the entertainment industry still is unmatched as a result of his superb talent as a singer, dancer, composer and actor. His humility and humanitarianism were profound,a giant has departed the worlds stage in the visual and performing arts.
May he find his resting place on heavens' moon - walking.

Michael Anthony Graham

I was at Glastonbury Festival when I heard that Michael Jackson had died…although I believed it was a festival rumor I was devastated when I found out from friends and family that it was true.

I always loved Michael and his music from a very early age…every album, every song, every performance, every dance! I was going to see him for the first time on the 16th July…it really upsets me that I will never see my King of Pop perform in the flesh.

I love you Michael…I know you are in a better place…rest your soul in peace and tranquility, you gave so much to the people…and I am ashamed that so many people let you down. Your legacy will continue forever despite the negativity, because you were such a positive individual.

I will miss you xxx

It is sad beyond words to know that we will never encounter the Legend that was Michael Jackson.  His effortless dedication to entertain the world with his ability to sing and dance like no other was a geniune gift from God.  He was a pure light in this world and his music will live on forever.

There will never be anyone like him again.

May he finally rest in peace.

He will be sadly missed, he was and always will be in my heart the King of Pop.

MJ, Forever…

Sharon Henry

It’s still so hard and unbelievable to talk about Michael Jackson in the past tense.  The world has lost a true legend, and a piece of my childhood has gone with him.  He was a genius songwriter, artist and performer who took talent to another level.  He will be forever missed but the magic will live on through his music.  Thank you for the music. R.I.P.

Pascale Khalaf

There are so few true originals in this business of ours, and Michael was certainly one of them. Whether on record, on film, or on stage he redefined the parameters of each one and made them his own. He was truly inspirational to so many, and will be sorely missed.

Keith Hopwood

Michael, I am devastated by the loss of your light and musical genius.  I have been a staunch supporter throughout your career highs and lows as I believe your music is ordained by God and you were sent to inspire people on a far deeper level to rise above; race, colour, creed and unite nations - you have achieved this and in honour of your eternal musical blessing - MJ - I salute you.  I pray you have now found the peace you so deserve.  God bless.

My wife and I went to Liverpool to see MJ at his gig (UK largest gig...?) in 1988 at the Aintree Race Track, part of the Bad tour.   It was a memorable, stunning event.   Michael gave his all for about 40 minutes solid and we were all entranced by his physicality, his musicianship and artistry, and this has stayed with me always.   His inventiveness was unique, but also, on the technical side, the production of his songs - the backing, mixing and, above all, vocals, was outstanding and set a new standard.   Great man.   Thanks, Michael.

Michael Jackson, R.I.P

Truly, the Last of the Superstars has left us, and anyone who has ever danced on a disco floor, a club lounge, at home, a school prom, will have got it on with the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, as at some time, somewhere, one of his iconic tracks will have filled the room with eager dancers, good, bad and indifferent - but with all one thing in common...soaking up the groove that was Michael Jackson.

The great thing is, that we will always have his music, and whenever we hear it, we will remember the man, his genius, his eccentricity, his gentleness....the man that was Michael Jackson.

I hope you're moonwalking in Heaven!
Your music will carry on.

I remember my 10th birthday when had all my friends gathered together in the music room in our cellar 30 years ago. I was so fond already by the Jackson Fives that I played my guitar in front of everyone and forced them to listen to those amazing riffs. As a song writer I reckognise that Michael's talent was second to none and will always be. He will be the absolute gold standard for performance and a unique diamond no one else will be able to shine as bright as he did.
R I P Michael and thank you for showing us essence of showmanship and songwriting.
