A TRUE MUSICAL GENIUS,
R.I.P. MICHAEL JACKSON

Simon Davies

As a man, he may have been misunderstood by many.
As a musician, he touched hearts all around the world.

He will live on.

Jude Spiro

So sad...an inspirational genius...will be missed by millions.

Mark Jones

The world has lost a great master of pop culture.

Graham Moughton

The word 'Genius' is sometimes misused but not in the case of Michael Jackson.
His songs, his recordings his incredible showmanship will last forever.

The world has lost a unique talent. I feel an emptiness already.

Rest in peace.

Richard Kerr

R.I.P. Michael, we love you.

Jana Yell

I was born in 1986, and grew up listening to the music and imitating the dance moves of Michael Jackson with my brother. His immense contribution to contemporary culture is evidenced to this very day, and his kindness touched countless individuals from all walks of life. His humanitarian efforts and altruism were very admirable, garnering worldwide respect as he transcended cultures, broke down barriers, and unified many. He was a man who not only revolutionized music and delivered greatness, but he was a man who cared about others. As a music graduate, music composer, and individual who truly appreciates the value of music, this has been profoundly saddening. Rest in Peace Michael Jackson. Undisputed king of pop and one of the most talented music artists in the world! You have my respect and will never be forgotten!

David Adeyemi, Soundtrack Composer

I am as shocked as everyone else. I was never a big Michael Jackson fan but had to admire his immense talent as a singer, songwriter, dancer and over all performer. May you rest in peace, Michael.

Brendan Monaghan

I'm sad and shocked like everyone - it's a cliché but he really did sing the soundtrack to our lives - a couple of memories I just sent to my kids.

I remember being in Madison Square Gardens in I think 1980 for Stevie Wonder - what a show - on the encores Michael came on as a surprise and sang a couple of songs from Off the Wall - Shake your body down to the ground - the whole hall 99% black fans went mental - it was brilliant -electric - magical - no-one else but he could have topped off a show with Stevie.

A more personal funny story also from the eighties. We used to go to a club in London called 'club for heroes' - a Steve Strange and Rusty Egan night and the entrance was a big winding staircase. It was like everyone was a star as you waltzed down the stairs in your 80's 40's gear. One night me and Sadie my wife were in there and a friend said 'did you see Michael Jackson he was in earlier on?'  I said 'where was he ?''You passed him on the stairs coming in!! 'I was too busy posing and missed a real megastar. I suppose he was trying to look anonymous between his security men. That club gave him ideas!!

He's up there with the truly great.

Jimme O'Neill

Michael was a legend throughout his carreer and his music will live forever
His Off the  Wall Album and Off Course the  Hit "Can You Feel It" (Jackson 5) being my favourtites.

But I have to say any song he sang it had style and passion.

A great caring person, who touched the hearts of many,  that  will live on in our memories forever

Charles K. Wright

It seems like the music of Michael Jackson has always been with us, so universal were those songs from the 80s like Billie Jean, Beat it, Thriller etc that you couldn’t turn on a radio anywhere in the world in the past 20 years and not hear him .  I can’t believe how sad I feel today. I was hoping that once he felt the love of his fans again, at his London concerts, he would bounce back from all his recent crises and prove to the world he still had the magic. A tragic loss.

Chris Pearce, The Surfin’ Lungs

To The Jackson Family,

My heart is one with U.

Michael's spirit is in the Sky, like the air we breath, his legacy is now eternal like the sun and will always and forever shine down on us. He is at peace with God who created him and has simply returned to the Lord Almighty. His mission he completed!  He,s now the Music in the Sky!

RIP Michael Jackson.

Miss Joy Ibiayo

He had it all. He could write fantastic songs, was a pioneer in dance and choreography and he sang amazingly. I wish the world could have been as kind to him in life.

I pray for Micheal Jackson and that he rests with Jesus in Heaven with his former guitarist David Williams, who was a friend of mine.

Gary Miller

Michael was my biggest musical influence and a big reason I began writing music. May he live forever in the new music we make, which is engraved with his timeless influence. I do believe that we got more joy out of his incredible gifts than he did so I hope that now he is finally truly happy and able to live the childhood that he spent most of his life trying to recapture. RIP Michael, you will be missed

Without doubt the undisputed king of pop – he has influenced nearly all of us and he gave us the visual entertainment to match.

To create so much lyrically, musically and in dance moves such as the 'moonwalk' and to be cut so soon before his time - he will be a terrible loss but will always be remembered - hopefully for the good he has done.

James Ullman

A truly unique musician brimming with talent.  An ambassador for peace.  A legend that will never die.

Paul Metsers

An amazingly talented guy, whose influence transcends cultures, worlds and boundaries.

We shall never see his like again.

So whilst hugely saddened by Michael’s passing, we should give thanks for his gifts and magic which we were blessed to share.

THE MUSIC NEVER ENDS.

RIP MICHAEL.

Jon Scott

One of the finest performers in the world, a total inspiration and legend of unique talent.

This is a sad day but one that will bring us all together to appreciate and celebrate one of life's brightest lights.

Rest in peace Michael Jackson

And when the beat is dead and gone, you know the love survives, so we can rock forever........

A great lyric, true in 1979 and forever more

Rob Colley

Michael Jackson was without a doubt one of the main reasons I sing and write music to this day. From as young as 4 I can remember singing along to his music and trying to mimic his dance moves. I am sad that I am never going to see my idol perform - I had tickets for July 28th, and I had previously been in the audience on a cancelled Wembley gig back on the Dangerous tour in '92. I guess it just wasn't meant to be, but I will forever have his music. Thanks for the inspiration, always.

Renny Carroll, Forever Never

I was a member of Heatwave in the mid 80's, Rod Temperton was the Keyboard player way before me and the song writer for them too, he then went on to write a string of hits for Michael Jackson, Off the Wall , Thriller etc.

Those classic and iconic songs would not have been such anthems if it wasn't for the brilliant and without doubt 'larger than life genuine superstar' that Michael was.

He gave  so much in so many ways and will be sadly missed in the huge world that is music.

RIP

Josh Phillips

Michael,

You were an inspirational performer and your name will always be remembered.

Not many pop stars can traverse the decades like Jacko. Michael Jackson's career took off in the late 1960's and here we are in 2009 still continually reeling from his impact on Pop Culture and right now his very sad premature departure from our planet.

He had it all as a writer, performer, personality, fashion icon and dance innovator. Not many of the Pop Stars of today or yesteryear will ever match that longtivity of being "way up there" or matching his incredible outstanding creativity He really will be remembered as one of the true great legends of POP.
His legacy will live on and on.

Chris D Jones

As all greats he left us early and no matter what we think, thought of bizzare behaviour, what an amazing performer from audition to end.

Let's hope those sales that will soar go toward the welfare of the Jackson chldren.

Marilyn Gentle

I have so many happy memories of listening to Michael's music. He really was the kind of entertainer most of us can only dream of being. My heart goes out to his children and family. There's a big hole in the world today.

Alan Connor

Sad day end of a mis-reported, misunderstood man.

I do not know him personally, I do not have a right to know or judge his personal life.

Michael Jackson was among the very few great audio/visual performers of ALL TIME and HUMANITY.

Now he can be at peace and maybe he can enjoy all that he wished through his life and never was granted.

Hail! Hail! Michael Jackson... Your Greatness is appreciated by me.
