As most people, I grew up listening to Michael Jackson, I had my 1st girlfriend when `Thriller` was out and all his songs define special times in my life. of course he`l be mist but i think it`s amazing and wonderful that so many of us will always think of him fondly because of his amazing catalogue of songs that are tattooed happily in our memory.`

What a tragic loss for the world of music. It is absolutely unbelievable that such an amazing artist be taken so young like so many other great artists. His music and his message will endure forever.
God bless his family and children.
Sandi Thom
He was my idol and has been a sound track to my life for 31 years. When I was younger you couldn't see my walls for posters of him. I remember crying every night when my mum said we couldn't get tickets to see him live at Aintree, then she surprised me with them. I sat waiting for him to come on with my holy communion glove on one hand!. When he came on stage I looked around and grown men were crying, everyone was crying.
He is a legend and has influenced my life so much especially in my music. Devastated for him family and his poor kids. My prayers are with them.
Toni James
May he be remembered for his music, and find the peace that seemed to elude him in life.

Michael Jackson’s innate sense of music and rhythm has brought me so much pleasure and inspiration over the years. A seemingly gentle man with an enormous talent; I will miss him.

I was so sad to hear of Michael's untimely and sudden death. Please send my heart felt condolescences to Michaels family and children, I hope they can all be strong together. through this terrible time. Being a songwriter myself I tend to like most types of music, as I am always looking for inspiration, for my own writing. Michael Jacksons songs are to me so uplifting and are some of the greatest songs of all time. I only have to play a song like BEN for example, and I still get goose bumps. He had the knack of combining great hooks, melodies and lyrics in each song. They are works of art in themselves, the arrangements simple yet so appropriate to the story he is trying to tell. As a performer, I think he was a one in a billion never to be seen again talent. He was so misunderstood, like so many geniuses generally are, but he tried to get in with his life as best he could. The Press hounded him incessantly, but then when don't they hound vulnerable, sensitive people. As a songwriter, I will remember Michael Jackson as a gentle giant of the music business, one to never be forgotten, but always honoured for his huge contribution to global popular music. RIP Michael, and keep on performing on that big stage in the sky.

Michael Jackson first inspired me to start producing. His music will live on forever.

Michael Jackson is thoroughly irreplaceable. A once in a lifetime character that will be hugely missed. His musical legacy will live on forever though and continue to teach and inspire future generations of musicians , artists, dancers, performers, writers and producers all over the world.
He may be gone but he'll never be forgotten. RIP MJ. Thank you for the music and inspiration.

I've been listening to Michael's music today and I'm struck by the extraordinary diversity. From the early cuts at Motown which were simply joyous, to the sophisticated Quincy Jones produced classics his range as a vocalist is staggering. Production values are of the highest calibre. He was a great artist who surrounded himself with great artists - like a Da Vinci ensuring that his pictures were in frames from a master craftsman.
Rest in peace Michael, and thank you.
Simon Bell
I remember my first vinyls and cd's... Michael Jackson Thriller, Bad...I grew up watching his concerts, video clips, movies

The greatest king of all.

True mega shock. Sad though it is, it is only his body that has gone, his music and soul will live forever.

Michael was a huge talent and stood head and shoulders above most of today's so called "Stars" a wonderful Musician and Songwriter.
He will be sadly missed.

I don't reckon anyone thought he'd ever die...
A huge influence on my songwriting, dance moves and approach to music in general!
My first record was history and my first show was blood on the dancefloor at wembley.
He had me hooked from the beginning.
Much love.
PS. I think he was probably just a majorly nice chap.
Sam and the Flashguns
Billie Jean gets me on the dance floor every time!!
A sad, sad day for music.
Emily Ovenden, Mediaeval Baebes
From the first cassette tape of Thriller, to seeing him at Wembley in 1988, again in 1991, and 1997, from since I was at school, drawing pictures of him in art class practically all the time, I was indeed thrilled to have been part of the legend that will resound for all time. His moves moved us and his songs are timeless. Michael Jackson is timeless. He really is the Peter Pan of pop after all.
Weirdness should be celebrated, as it is a sure sign of genius.
Lee Being (The Problem Being)
What a shame to see such a musical genius leave this world for another, Ive followed many years of the MJ era. Ive also been inspired by Quincy era, almost you would consider it as professional dance music...produced with many real instruments....
In my time ive covered "Can You Feel it" and found "The Way You Make Me Feel" to be an absolute treat of pop music. Even "Black or White" impresses, with its clanky but in time beats produced by one of the greats but still has the MJ magic stamped all over it.
Michael, a big thank-you...and dont wear heaven's carpet out with too much moon walking.
Tom Orton, The Smart'es
As a mover and groover, you were perfection.
Heaven will welcome you with open arms and an open heart.
John Timperley
Since I was born, MJ's all I've ever truly known. The one constant; the gold-standard in an industry of fluctuating quality.
He was the last cultural icon of the 20th Century, he was my Elvis. I will defend his musical genius to the hilt. Along with his passing goes my childhood. Those days for me, it seems, are over.
Jason Bavanandan
You will be sorely missed Michael... There is not a single artist in the 20th Century who hasn't been influenced/effected by your genius... R.I.P.
Sami Yusuf
What a sad day. Let's remember Michael Jackson for his talent and music and not the scandal.
Christine Barron
I am well and truely shocked and upset by the death of Michael Jackson.
The best musician has passed but his music will always live on to eternity.
Michael's songs were my influence to get into music, ill never forget his talents and will continue to listen to his songs as they were works of a pure genius.
I grew up on the majority of his songs and will never forget his legacy.
Michael is now at peace and will be truely remembered for his talent.
my heart goes out to his family and to his children.

Michael Jackson (King of Pop) 1959 - 2009
Yours Sincerely

Adorable, charming and frightening talented Michael!
When it comes to spark, magic, beauty, innocence, Michael had plenty of it going on within him, and he believed it till the very end regardless of all the bitter costs he had to pay.
Michael had enough sweetness and gentleness to touch most souls on our planet... even the most skeptical ones I think.
At a soul level there's no need to understand, justify or explain, one can carry pure essence within and not even knowing it.
Michael has left us so so much...we will carry on being inspired anew every single day for years to come.
I'm really sad right now...it feels like the end of our childhood too.
Michael was all about 'youth' with all its dreams and nightmares... and I challenge anyone not to relate to that.

Michael Jackson was simply the greatest singer, dancer and entertainer of al time!
The moment I heard of his death rates alongside J.F. Kennedy, the Challenger disaster and 911 for me.
It's one of those 'I remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news' moments.
He touched the lives of so many people and we grew up listening to his music.
From the style, the backward walking, the genius of Thriller, the dancing, the videos, the sheer excitement of his live shows, to Captain Eo, no one will ever match the achievements of Michael Jackson.
It feels like a huge part of the music world is now missing.

Michael Jackson's Bad album was the first cd i ever bought.
His music was part of the reason i started to gain real interest in music.
A truly sad day thoughts to his family.
Michael Paterson
Somewhere along the way I became a big fan of Michael Jackson.
Sure, there were the songs that made me gag, and the news byte - give me a break - but outshining all that was the man himself, a real individual, a genius even, and of course the instant classics that will be played deep into the future.
When I were a lad in a band we used the riff from Billy Jean in one of our live songs and every time, no matter in what the venue, in whatever city, in whatever nation the anti-pop, alternative, college radio, goth audience of ours would ramp it up just a notch to get into that Michael Jackson groove.
Paul Clark, The Bolshoi
Rest in peace Michael Jackson. 1988 concert @ Wembley Stadium when I was 8 years old is still the greatest concert I have ever seen. Nearly 21 years later and no one has come close. You will be missed.
Lebert Dwyer Jr
MJ was a constant in my childhood and played a huge part in shaping my song-writing and performance skills. His death is a tragedy and he will be greatly missed.
