U2 present Grainge with MITS award
Universal Music Group International Chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge was presented with the 2008 Music Industry Trust Award last night by all four members of U2.
The annual award, which has been won by Kylie Minogue, Elton John and Peter Gabriel in recent years, was handed over at a ceremony at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on 3 November 2008.
PRS CEO Steve Porter, together with PPL CEO and Chairman Fran Nervkla, presented a separate award to Take That at the ceremony for being the most played and performed songwriters and artists in the UK for 2007.
PRS and PPL jointly sponsored the star-studded ceremony which this year raised over half a million pounds for music charities Nordoff-Robbins and the BRIT school.
