MIA to donate gig fee to school fund

British/Sri Lankan star MIA has revealed that she is to use her fee from playing at a recent MTV Awards after-party to aid the construction of schools in Liberia.

The London rapper is to donate her fee of $100,000 to the West African nation where $52,000 can build a school for 1,000 children.

MIA is also scheduled to take part in a benefit gig for New York's MoMa museum on June 10.
