Latin Rhythms

The Buena Vista Social Club album began a Cuban music boom and made international stars of many of the performers involved. It has also inspired an unusual collaboration CD, with all profits going to the environmental charity, Artists Project Earth (APE). The charity recruits internationally known musicians and artists to help raise awareness of and funds for climate change and disaster relief.

Rhythms Del Mundo contains music from PRS artists such as Coldplay, The Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, U2 and Sting. Songs have been given hot Latin arrangements by Cuban musicians, mostly retaining the original vocal track. Musicians from the original Buena Vista release are also featured, including Omara Portuonda and the last recording of the late Ibrahim Ferrer.
