Nigel Kennedy to perform at 2008 Proms

Nigel Kennedy is to perform at the 2008 Proms; it will be his first appearance at the annual music festival in 21 years.

Kennedy has steered clear of the event due to being the victim of a verbal attack from the late Sir John Drummond, a former director of the Proms, who accused him of a having a lack of sartorial taste.

One highlight of the 2008 Proms will be a day celebrating the 50th anniversary of the late PRS member Ralph Vaughan-Williams' death.
