Joy Division film screens at Cannes
A biopic on Ian Curtis, leader signer of Joy Division will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday.
Curtis committed suicide in May 1980 on the evening before Joy Division were due to start their American tour, after battling with depression and epilepsy.
His widow released a book, Touching from a Distance, which has formed the base for the film about his life and musical career titled Control.
Control will be Britian’s main entry to the festival and will open the Directors Fortnight.
