PRS for Music member Jay Sean has become the first British urban artist to have a US No.1 with single Down. Jay ends Black Eyed Peas’ record run at the top of the singles charts.
Jay is only the fourth British artist to have a US No.1 this decade. The Hounslow-based R&B singer is getting ready to release his US debut album All Or Nothing.
Speaking to Digital Spy about his success, Jay said: ‘I can't walk around Hounslow without everyone congratulating me on doing so well. Word spreads fast, man.’
Down is playlisted on BBC Radio 1, Choice, Capital, BBC Asian Network and Kiss.
