Live Earth Huge demand for Live Earth

Music fans who registered for Live Earth’s UK concert will be contacted by SMS today if they have been successfully selected by random ballot to buy tickets.

A total of 203,000 people registered for the opportunity to buy a pair of the 60,000 available tickets selling for £55 each. The concert will be held at Wembley Stadium on 7 July 2007 in co-ordination with six other concerts taking place across the globe on the same day.

‘Live Earth will not only span all 7 continents, but the musicians who have answered our call span multiple genres and generations.’

‘We hope Live Earth will launch a global campaign giving a critical mass of people around the world the tools they need to help solve the climate crisis,' said Live Earth Co-Chair Vice President Al Gore.

The line up for the UK concert includes PRS members Corinne Bailey Rae, James Blunt, Keane and Paolo Nutini.

To date, Live Earth has secured radio and TV coverage in 120 nations.
