Glyndebourne turbine given go-ahead

Controversial plans to build a wind tubine adjacent to Glyndebourne Opera House have been given the go-ahead by Communities Secratary Hazel Blears.

The opera house put in the request to build the structure which they hope will satisfy all power requirements of the East Sussex venue.

The approval comes despite oppositon from environmental campaigners who stated that the construction will be a blot on the South Downs landscape.
