Gillian Moore wins Leslie Boosey Award
PRS and the Royal Philharmonic Society are to honour music education pioneer Gillian Moore with the Leslie Boosey Award for services to contemporary music at the Royal Festival Hall on Thursday 13 March 2008.
Moore, currently Head of Contemporary Culture for London's South Bank Centre, is to be recognised for a career spanning more than 25 years during which she has untaken roles ranging from Head of Education at the South Bank Centre to Education Officer at the London Sinfonietta.
The Leslie Boosey award itself takes the imposing shape of a large bronze eagle sculpted by Dame Elisabeth Frink for the inagural award ceremony in 1980.
