Franz Ferdinand complete third album

Franz Ferdinand have completed work on their third studio album.

The band have not yet confirmed a title for their follow-up to 2005's You Could Have It So Much Better, but have revealed that it will be released in early 2009.

Frontman Alex Kapranos has promised that the new material will be slower and "a bit friendlier for the dancefloor" than that of their previous offering.
