File sharing debate update

MuseRadiohead's Ed O'Brien and Muse's Matt Bellamy have responded to the file sharing debate.

Speaking to the BBC World Service, O'Brien said "I completely agree with Lily Allen... What's great at the moment is that artists, people like Lily Allen are saying, 'You know what, there are consequences to file-sharing', and that's the first step in engaging the file sharers."

Responding to Lily's blog, Bellamy set out his own ideas of how people could access music, and suggested "We should set up a meeting with Lord Mandelson as he is on this issue at the moment."

Keane's Tim Rice-Oxley urged that "The most vital step at this moment is to ensure that 'the artists', whether FAC-related or not, present a united front and a simple message."

Allen set up a blog to post messages against unauthorised file-sharing as a response to another group of performers, the Featured Artists' Coalition (FAC), who say that serial file-sharers should not be punished.
