Currys to eject audio cassettes

Electrical retailer Currys has announced it will stop stocking the humble audio cassette.

Audio cassette sales have been in steady decline as the demand for CDs and more recently MP3 players has dominated the physical sales market.

Last year Currys sold 100,000 tapes compared to 83 million in 1989.
