Coldplay named biggest act of 2008

Coldplay have been named the biggest-selling act of 2008 at the World Music Awards in Monaco.

The group, whose latest album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends has topped charts around the globe, also scooped the Rock Act Of The Year prize.

Also amongst the winners at the sales-based awards was Amy Winehouse who picked up the Female Pop/Rock award.
