Amazon opens digital store

Following recent rumours, Amazon has announced plans to launch a digital store later this year.

Customers will be able to purchase and download DRM-free tracks from 12,000 record labels, including EMI.

Amazon will provide tracks in MP3 format and customers will be able to burn their own CDs.
