Teenage Cancer TrustAlliance partners with Teenage Cancer Trust

Staff at the MCPS-PRS Alliance have chosen the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) as their adopted charity for the next 18 months, to help with fundraising and to help raise the TCT profile.

Each day in the UK, six teenagers are diagnosed with cancer. It is now the most common cause of death in teens and young adults in the UK.

TCT receives no Government funding and relies solely on charity fundraising to support its activities. The top priority is to build specialist teenage cancer care units in NHS hospitals. TCT have built eight around the UK so far and need to build another 15 to meet current needs. Each costs around £2m. As well as the units, the charity runs education and awareness campaigns and provides specialist support services.

Many members already support TCT, particularly at the annual week of gigs held every Spring in the Royal Albert Hall. Roger Daltrey and Mark Knopfler are patrons.

We'll be including details of how you can help TCT in future issues of M. www.teenagecancertrust.org
