AMGA boost for live music

A new music venue is to be opened in Brixton, South London by Fridge founder Andrew Czezowski.

The new venue will have a 500-capacity and will be aimed at emerging acts.

The venue is scheduled to open late 2007/early 2008.

Live music is set to expand further with the news that Academy Music Group are to buy two more live music venues.

The identities of the venues have not been revealed but it is believed that AMG are looking to buy venues in university towns.

This news follows AMG's recent purchase of the Brighton Hippodrome and the announcement of a £2 million refurbishment of The Oxford Zodiac.
