English Schools’ Orchestra Annual Concert 2008
The Performing Right Society (PRS) is proud to sponsor the English Schools’ Orchestra and Choir Annual Concert.
As a membership society of 60,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers, PRS is committed to creating a future for music by supporting the next generation of music creators.
PRS represents composers from every music genre. We are dedicated to furthering the influence and vitality of contemporary classical music in the UK and beyond, investing in initiatives like the British Composer Awards and, in association with the Royal Philharmonic Society, the Leslie Boosey Award.
Our independent charity, the PRS Foundation, is the country's only independent funder of new music across all genres, providing core support for creators, performers and producers of new music.
The English Schools' Orchestra and Choir Annual Concert, which does so much to shape the next generation of classical instrumentalists and choristers, enabling them to display their talent and professionalism, is a welcome addition to our classical canon.
As a royalty collecting organisation, we recognise that often the first income for music creators comes from their performances of live music. Royalties create a future for music by providing a livelihood for songwriters and composers so that they can continue creating music for us all to enjoy.
