MPs Launch ticket tout inquiry

The Select Committee for Culture, Media and Sport has announced a government inquiry to investigate ticket touts.

The investigation will look at 11 issues including the impact of internet auction sites and will decide if tickets should be allowed to be sold above face value.

The committee has invited promoters, ticketing agencies and other interested parties from the live music industry to submit their written views on ticket touting. The deadline for submissions is 6 June 2007.
