Industry awaits new Minister

The music industry is awaiting the announcement of the new music minister, following Gordon Brown’s cabinet reshuffle yesterday.

Outgoing minister for creative economies and tourism, Shaun Woodward has been moved to take the position of secretary of state for Northern Ireland.

Woodward took over the music industry post in May 2006 from James Purnell, who was also promoted in yesterday’s cabinet to the position of secretary of state for culture, media and sport.
