Album sales drop in the US CDs

Album sales in the US have dropped by 15.1% for the first half of 2007 according to Nielsen Soundscan. 

Digital sales however have increased by 48.5% when compared to the same period last year.

Corinne Bailey Rae’s self-titled debut album in America is currently ranked number 15 in the list of best selling albums for 2007, followed by Amy Winehouse’s album Back to Black at number 16.

Last week we reported that Album sales in the UK were on the rise for 2007 with a  12.8% increase week-on-week.
