RealNetworks signs Pan-European deal with CELAS for repertoire from EMI Music Publishing

RealNetworks has signed a pan-European licensing deal with CELAS providing its Real Music Services, with full access to EMI Music Publishing’s Anglo-American repertoire.

The pan-European deal was concluded with CELAS, the organisation representing this repertoire for digital exploitation in Europe.

The deal covers Real's 'Real Music Radio' services as well as the 'Real Digital Download Shop' in numerous territories including the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands.

Joint Managing Directors of CELAS, Nick Williamson and Alexander Wolf said: ‘We are very pleased to have facilitated this deal for RealNetworks which gives them access to the EMI Music Publishing Anglo-American repertoire for Europe.

‘CELAS was the first organisation to offer licences for cross border music services for online and mobile applications. We continue to work with music services to provide effective and efficient licensing solutions for established and newer business models.’
