MCPS-PRS Alliance General Counsel

The MCPS-PRS Alliance has today announced that the post of General Counsel, held by Crispin Evans, is being made redundant.  Crispin Evans will leave the Alliance with immediate effect.

Crispin has been instrumental in dealing with a number of significant issues for the Alliance since his appointment in August 2005. These included the settlement of the Copyright Tribunal with the BPI. He has led the Alliance's interaction with the European Commission in its efforts to create new licensing structures for pan-territorial licensing of rights, and has dealt with a number of other issues raised by DG Competition and DG Internal Market. Crispin also played a key role in the conclusion of the new Alliance agreement with the BBC.

Crispin also fulfilled the international remit during his time at the Alliance, representing PRS and MCPS at the highest level amongst collecting societies. 

Prior to joining the Alliance, Crispin held a number of senior positions at EMI Music Publishing and within the Universal Music Publishing Group.
