Kicking off on Monday the 25th of January 2016, Independent Venue Week (IVW) rolls out across the country where PRS for Music will be teaming up with Guildford’s The Boileroom presenting a stellar line-up of gigs and events throughout the week.

The incredible Eliza And The Bear are set to open at The Boileroom on Monday 25th of January with Swedish hard-core punks Grieved to follow on the 26th, Charlie Dore legendary singer-songwriter taking stage on the 27th, new guitar poppers Lisbon playing the 28th, and the beguiling alt-folk of This Is The Kit gigging the 29th. More performances yet to be added to the week’s line-up.

After being selected as one of the 17 flagship venues for the very first IVW in 2014, and having brought You Me At Six to Guildford for IVW 2015, this year sees The Boileroom bring all of the above plus more in an exclusive partnership with PRS for Music.

In support of the spirit of all things independent, a DIY educational session will take place on 30th January at The Boileroom where PRS for Music and other industry experts will be giving out top tips and advice on how to ‘Do It Yourself’ as an independent musician in the business.

The session will pair up with local artist development programme, ‘The Project’ where four young, local acts will be selected to hone their skills as live performers by showcasing in front of a panel of experts.

We are excited to be partnering with The Boileroom and are delighted to be a part of Independent Venue Week once again. Small independent venues are where it all starts, they play an integral part in developing the UK’s live music scene and are an essential platform for so many of our members. IVW is a great way to champion the remarkable venues we have across the country and a fantastic opportunity for music fans to support them.
