PRS and B4U agree licensing terms

PRS and B4U today announce that they have agreed an amicable resolution of the English High Court litigation issued by PRS against B4U in July 2011.

Pursuant to the terms of the settlement, B4U has agreed to enter into licences for its future broadcasting within Europe of its B4U Movies and B4U Music channels and has agreed to pay PRS a sum in relation to damages, costs and interest for its past use of music in PRS' repertoire.

We're pleased to have resolved this dispute amicably with B4U.  Writers and publishers of musical works should be fairly rewarded when their music is used in broadcasts and we look forward to a constructive ongoing relationship with B4U.

Although B4U acquires and holds licences from the Bollywood Film Studios and/or Music companies in order to broadcast its films and music in Europe, following a judgment of the Court of Appeal on 16 October 2013 B4U accepted that it was necessary to acquire additional licences from the PRS within Europe.  We are pleased to have resolved the dispute with the PRS on an amicable basis.
