PRS FOR MUSIC EXTENDS LIVE MUSIC CONSULTATION

Last month PRS for Music announced the start of a formal customer consultation on its royalty rates for popular music events in the UK.

In response to requests from some representative organisations, PRS for Music has decided to extend the 12 week consultation period by a further eight weeks. The deadline for responses is now 31 October 2010 (extended from 7 September 2010).

Debbie Mulloy, Commercial Director Public Performance Sales, PRS for Music said: “PRS for Music realises that the original consultation period overlaps with the busy summer season for some of our customers. We’re happy to extend the consultation period by 8 weeks to make sure all our customers have the opportunity to let us know their views and ideas”.

PRS for Music is inviting customers, rights-holders and representative bodies to be part of the consultation. All the details can be found at: www.prsformusic.com/customerconsultation
