PRS Foundation sparks Live Connections

The PRS Foundation is offering grants towards one-off performances of live electronic music through its unique Live Connections scheme in October.

Live Connections offers funding for one-off performances of live electronic music taking place in 2008. Substantial awards of up to £5000 are available for each event to UK- based artists, promoters and producers.

The PRS Foundation encourages applications that demonstrate innovation in the live presentation of music.

Charlotte Ray, director of the PRS Foundation said: ‘We are proud to run this very specific scheme for live performance of electronic music. In previous years the most interesting projects have combined astounding music with unusual venues and strong visual presentation.’

Live Connections is the UK’s only funding scheme focused on supporting live performances of electronic music.

Former Live Connections award holder Photon Hex said: ‘The award from the PRS Foundation provided us with an invaluable opportunity to plan a much more ambitious event than otherwise would have been possible. The positive response from our audience suggests that there is a strong potential for more events of this nature.’

Other successful applicants from last year include Evan Parker, Leafcutter John at Beaconsfield and QuJunktions.

Application deadline: Friday 12 October 2007.

Full details about this financial support (Live Connections) and information on previous successful applicants can be found by visiting www.prsfoundation.co.uk/liveconnections  or calling 020 7306 4044.
