PRS Foundation offers grant opportunity for new music promoters throughout the UK

The PRS Foundation for New Music will award grants of up to £15k to support new music promoters this spring.

The PRS Foundation for New Music (PRSF) is looking for promoters who challenge musical boundaries by programming ground-breaking music of any genre, develop new audiences for new music, are tapped into other local or national networks, and are financially stable and effectively managed.

Promoters of live new music in the UK are invited to apply for funding by the next application deadline on 13 April 2007.

Qu Junktions, which were supported in this way in 2006 said: ‘Six months into the promoter scheme we are already feeling the benefits of our PRSF grant in terms of developing the Qu Junktions brand and its visibility. We received recognition of our progress when we were awarded "Promoter of the Year" award in a local magazine.’

Other successful applicants from last year include Oxford Contemporary Music, Club Fandango, An Tobar and the National Portrait Gallery.

Full details about this financial support (Awards to Promoters) and information on previous successful applicants can be found by visiting www.prsfoundation.co.uk or call 020 7306 4044.

There is also a separate scheme provided especially for Jazz Promoters, funded by PRSF and managed by Jazz Services (www.jazzservices.org.uk). Contact Jazz Services for details.
