Metadata and data tools
Good data on repertoire works and on usage of those works by licensees underpins the accuracy and efficiency of collective rights management. We play a participatory role in development of the standards systems and data structures that connect the international rights management and rights user communities.
We believe that everyone in the digital music value chain should be responsible for providing good data and using international numbering standards, electronic formats for data exchange, and latest data tools including the Digital Data Exchange (DDEX).
We are proud to be leading development of a Global Repertoire Database (GRD), based on our ICE database system, to make the data that supports music licensing simpler, more accurate and cost-effective across Europe. We participate in the GRD working group.
