Use our online resources to help you learn more about what we do, how songwriters and publishers make money from royalties and how we fit into the wider music industry.

What is PRS for Music?

PRS for Music is home to the world's best music writers, composers and publishers.

We exist to collect and pay royalties to our members when their music is used in one of a number of ways – when it is recorded onto any format and distributed to the public, performed or played in public, broadcast or made publicly available online.

PRS for Music Foundation
The UK's only independent funder of new music across all genres.

PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund
A registered charity that provides assistance to members and ex-members of the Performing Rights Society and their families.

Visits and events

We offer visits to schools and colleges, as well as speaking at events. However, we only have limited resources so we cannot visit everyone.

Find out if we can visit your school or event

To request a visit, please email us with details of your college, the courses you run, approximate number of students in the audience. If it is for a specific event, please give us as many details as possible.

Alternatively, we will be holding an Education Day in 2010 where students can find out more about how songwriters and publishers make money from royalties and how we fit into the wider music industry.
