About us

Why we’re rebranding:

The industry is changing

Technology is transforming the music industry, new channels and formats are emerging and boundaries are blurring.

Licensees deserve efficient solutions while music creators have a right to be paid.

So we’re changing too

Now we have a new identity, we have the opportunity to reintroduce ourselves to our members and customers and reiterate who we are and what we do.

We think the new identity represents us more effectively. It’s bold, clear and effective. Ultimately, it will help us to raise more revenue and distribute more royalties to our members.

Play | Perform | Reproduce

For members

PRS members – This will have no effect on your membership. PRS for Music will continue to collect your royalties whenever your music is played or performed in any public place or downloaded or listened to online. PRS For Music will continue to represent your performing right.

Mechanical members – This will have no effect on your membership. MCPS sits under the broader PRS for Music brand, and will continue to license your mechanical (reproduction) rights and pay your mechanical royalties. PRS for Music will collect your royalties whenever your music is downloaded or listened to online, recorded onto an audio-visual or other physical product.

Performing and Mechanical members - There will be no effect on your membership. PRS for Music will continue to collect your royalties whenever your music is played or performed in any public place or downloaded or listened to online or recorded onto an audio-visual or other physical product. PRS for Music will continue to both represent your performing rights and act as an agent to administer your mechanical rights.

Performing and Mechanical - There will be no effect on how your performing and mechanical rights licensing is carried out.
